Esteemed JUNO Award-winning vocalist, Garth Prince, accompanied by his ensemble, will grace the Elmwood Community Leagues of Jasper Place with two live concerts.

Garth Prince, a resident of Canora, Edmonton, immigrated to Canada from Namibia, Africa, 15 years ago. Renowned for his musical prowess, he has left an indelible mark on audiences nationwide, particularly through his educational concerts and workshops. His journey serves as a testament to the capacity of Albertans to achieve international recognition and acclaim.

The Garth Prince live concert series offers a professional, interactive, family-oriented experience, featuring seasoned musicians and skilled sound technicians. Notable venues this season include The Winspear Centre in Edmonton and The Surrey Civic Theatre in Vancouver. Typically beyond the financial reach of community leagues, the opportunity to host such events is made possible through the Projects for Belonging Grant. This initiative facilitates local access to cultural events and fosters connections with accomplished artists within the community.

Two concerts are scheduled, one per evening on Thursday, February 29th, and Friday, March 1st. These dates coincide with the conclusion of Black History Month and the non-school days due to The Greater Edmonton Teacher’s Convention, offering children and families a meaningful engagement during the winter season. Attendees will be encouraged to familiarize themselves with two pre-selected songs, fostering a participatory atmosphere.
